On Opinions

A word about opinions:

There is an element, however small, of ignorance and naiveté in every issuance of opinion.  The issuer is ignorant of the degree to which others wish to hear his opinion, and opinions can be issued in good faith while the facts they are based upon change.  Learning this, after having left a scat-trail of uninformed comments on dozens of other blogs, I decided to corral the negative externality of my ignorance.  I will leave my musings and wonderings and occasional vitriol here, and try to limit my comment-posting on other blogs to questions that help me understand what their bloggers are writing.  I refuse, for the good of humanity, and for the maintenance of my own dignity, to spray compulsive cris de coeur on other’s blogs.
